At the Christmas Fair in Rostock. She was administering a "Sex Test." We rated an excellent "somnolent." As you can tell by the dazed but wanton look on her face, our new love is as smitten with us as we are with her. Unfortunately, when we tried to lug her away from the stand she was in front of, a ruckus ensued. So we'll have to go back next year, and propose to her on bended knee.
And her cooking is fabulous!

This picture made me burst out laughing. You really know how be photographed. This also made me think of one of my favorite short stories of all time, Tunnel of Love by Michel Faber. I couldn't find the complete story online, so I'll have to commit some time to transcribing it to my blog and send you a link when I'm done. It's beautiful.

Actually, it's called The Tunnel of Love. I'm sure that was bothering you as much as it bothered me.

I will have to look up this Michael Faber fellow. And yes, that missing "The" was bothering me. No great short story begins without an article, as is evidenced by John Cheever's "The Swimmer." Hi Gillian! And Jan Martin! (She cooks a scrumptious schnitzel, or so I'm told.)

I'm not a big fan of Michel Faber's novels, but his short stories are really something special. I've transcribed 14 of 30 pages so far. I'm taking a break. I will let you know when the story's up in my blog :)
The title story of The Courage Consort is amazing http://www.amazon.com/Courage-Consort-Michel-Faber/dp/B001OMHUF6/ref=sr_1_9?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1325284249&sr=1-9 and there are several stories in Some Rain Must Fall that I really like. http://www.amazon.com/Some-Rain-Must-Fall-Stories/dp/0156011484/ref=sr_1_11?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1325284249&sr=1-11
