We would ask that everyone write their congressman to complain about the stifling of a GREAT TALENT. Why should we be slaving away at the government's work when we could be blathering on at great length about absolutely nothing? This is not a rhetorical question. This is the plaint of a fettered spirit, whose futile wings have been clipped by the uncaring colossus of big government intrusion into his personal work-time affairs! We have unimportant things to say and by God, we need the paid business hours to say them! Why, we had a whole spiel worked up about the time we got assigned to paint every single pipe, air vent, handrail and geegaw on the roof of the foundry building in Littlestown Pennsylvania with Andy Warhol silver paint but now it will never be written because "THE MAN" decided he had "MORE IMPORTANT" things for us to do. Namely the Work of the People! To which we respond, Let the People do their own damn work! We have more pressing matters to attend to!

What's surprising to me is that the Catholic Church seems to have a sense of humor. Which, although funny, leads me to believe that these signs are fake. :)

This is great. I play hooky today hoping to blog in real time with you but I can't because budget cuts have shut down the one, singular function of the federal government that is worth continuing. Can they not find some other lackey to do all that inconsequential editing or whetever it is they're demanding you do in order that you may get back to the one thing that drew you into public service in the first place? What kind of society do we live in?
